Sassy
Ole Sass, as she is affectionately known, is an 19 year old liver chestnut mare. If Sassy could talk, she would
have a lot of great stories to tell. She has been trail ridden her entire life up until the last few years when she
has raised 3 awesome, beautiful foals out of Rocket and Rocket's Dangerous High Voltage. She was a devoted trail
horse for Doug Stanley's father, "Coonhunter" Stanley for many years. It seems everyone knows the story
of how Ole Sass would take care of Coonhunter on the trail. Sassy is a beautiful, big mare, stocky built, about 15.1
hands tall. Sassy is as solid as they come. She is calm, cool and collected. She is content to ride by herself
on the trail and let all the others pass her if you want. Or step her up and she has a nice, natural trail gait.
After seeing the quality of her first two foals by Rocket, I knew we had to buy this mare. She is the mother to our
Scarlett filly and the Harris' Spade colt. She is also the mother to a beautiful bay filly owned by Kara Smith by
one of Rocket's sons, Danger. We finally got the opportunity to buy her in the Spring of 2008 and I am very excited
to have her here. She is confirmed in foal to Rocket for a May 2009 baby.
